Pankapu Gamescom 2017 Interview
Pankapu is a narrative and episodic platform/action game that takes place in the dreams of Djaha’rell, a child once troubled by a tragic incident. Play Pankapu, the tiny warrior chosen by The God of Dreams, to rid the Dreamworld of the Nightmare invasion. Discovering the dreamlike world of Omnia, the player controls Pankapu. This tiny being was created by Iketomi, the God of dreams, in order to defeat the hordes of nightmares that try to invade his world.
Pankapu is made by Too Kind Studio and published by Playdius. We also had the chance to talk to the developers in last year’s Gamescom.
Pankapu was showcased once again at the Indie Arena Booth during Gamescom 2017 and we had the pleasure of talking with Ulysse about the game again.
First and most importantly, he told us that the final product will arrive for the public on the 20th of September, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. “We have actually already finished the porting of the game for Switch as well and we are just waiting on a couple confirmations on it too,” explained Ulysse.
The game is now complete and what we saw at the booth this year was also a huge improvement compared to the last time we had the chance to check it out. More complete and fluid animations, the mage character added to the game, new weapons and boss fights with a lot of tactical elements added to them.
We asked Ulysse what the studio has planned for the future and he told us that the studio is already busy working on a couple new prototypes, but he also said that he unfortunately cannot reveal much at the moment. “We wil continue making games in the future for sure,” Ulysse exclaimed. “We hope people like Pankapu!”
