FAR, Lone Sails Gamescom 2017 Interview
FAR: Lone Sails« is a vehicle adventure game. In an unlikely vehicle you travel across an ocean turned desert following the tracks of a once flourishing civilization. Through an array of roadblocks and through hazardous weather you need to keep your vessel going. Where will this journey take you? Are you the last of your kind?
The game is made by Okomotive.
During Gamescom 2017, FAR was being showcased at one of the booths of the Indie Arena Booth and we had the chance to pass by and find Alexandra Palme, the marketing and PR person of the publishng company that is responsible for the game.
Alexandra told us that the game has a lot more mechanics than the last time (during Gamescom 2016) we saw it and the game build that was being shown is pre-alpha footage. “The game should be finished by the end of September. The reason why the developers are not here to showcase the game themselves, is actually because they are working hard on it, even now,” explained Alexandra.
The game will be releasing on Steam and the studio already has the devkits for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is getting ready to port it. Last year, the title was even shown during E3 as part of the Xbox ID program.
From what Alexandra told us, the development studio is fully focused on finishing the game now, especially after a small break that they developers had to take due to having to finish their master thesises for their studies about three months ago. Their thesis was on the game, but nonetheless, it took time out of the development.
We are most definitely excited to see what FAR will look like in its final, complete form and try it out for ourselves once it is ready.
