Dimension Drive Gamescom 2017 Interview
Dimension Drive is a Dual-Battlefield space shooter with a teleportation mechanic. It seamlessly combines shooting and puzzle mechanics. Dimension Drive will teleport you into a comic book styled sci-fi space opera set in a multidimensional universe. The Ashajuls, a cruel multidimensional alien race, are attacking our universe. Fight as Jackelyne Tywood (a.k.a. Jack) in The Manticore, a legendary ship capable of teleporting across space and dimensions. Uncover the mysteries of your past and the origin of the Dimension Drives with your trusty friend and A.I., “V.E.R.A.”, at your side.
Just like last year, Dimension Drive was showcased at the Indie Arena Booth during Gamescom 2017 and we found David Jimenez who we talked to, to find out more about the game and where it is at right now.
“The game is almost finished,” said David, telling us that we should expect it to be finished sometime around October. The studio is actually finishing up some last few things for getting the certification for the Switch port and then they will be releasing the game on Steam and Switch at the same time.
“The game has a lot more content coming up for it, but we haven’t added any yet just because we want it to all come out together,” David explained. Twelve levels, plus some more when you finish the game and start in new game+ (new levels, not just harder difficulty) and a lot of other cool new content are going to be in the game when it fully releases.
The game also won the Big Indie Pitch at Gamescom this year and had the huge bat trophy to show for it too. “We are actually doing the last couple of showcases for the game before release now, this and the one at Barcelona Games World are probably our last ones,” explained David.
New mechanics, exciting new levels and a bunch of other things that David is probably hiding from us just to build up the suspense for the full release of the game, are coming to Dimension Drive. Are you as much excited as we are?
