The Curious Expedition is a roguelike expedition simulation set in the late 19th century. Together with famous personalities you will venture on unprecedented expeditions to regions never explored before for fame, science and treasures.
The game has been in Early Access since May of 2015 and after 30 feature updates, finally the date to the 1.0 version of the game is announced. In September 2nd The Curious Expedition leaves Early Access and the developers, Maschinen-Mensch, have shared news about what we can expect from the game on release.
First and foremost, all the event and diary texts are being rewritten by creative writer, Luke Openshaw. He worked previously on Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, Syndicate and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena games, and he brings a more 19th century flavor and quality to the writing. There is also a professional video game translator who works in bringing the German translation to the game, that will follow shortly after the release of the 1.0 version of the game. After that, the translation tools will be open to the community so anyone can help with more translations.
The developers of The Curious Expedition have lots of social media activity planned for this week: Reddit AMA, Facebook Live, New Trailer, New Devlog and Twitch stream. You can follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Twitch to stay updated. You can also take part in their Thunderclap campaign if you would like to share the word about the upcoming release. Finally, you can buy the game on Steam at the price of 14,99€.
