Punch Club is a retro inspired boxing management tycoon game by Lazy Bear Games that made quite a splash in the gaming community at the beginning of 2016, when it was released. You might remember the Twitch Plays Punch Club, where developers said they will not release the game until Twitch players finish the game. Thankfully they managed to do just that in 36 hours, to everyone’s surprise.
Eleven months later, the developers announced that they are working on the follow up, entitled Punch Club 2 : Fast Forward. There is not a lot of information at this moment, other than the game will be set in the future and it will release on 2017. Also, from their steam news we know that the game is designed with no stat decay in mind, a mechanic of the game that made a lot of players unhappy because of the grind.
Moreover, the oringinal Punch Club was updated with a new, easy mode, that removes stat decay and makes the game very easy. It is aimed at those who want to experience the story and don’t have the time to grind for their stats. The developers state that playing in this mode will break the game balance wise and the players will get no achievements.
The announcement for Punch Club 2 : Fast Forward came with a documentary from the developers, that focuses on their background, how they met and all about the development and launch of Punch Club. You can watch it here and if you don’t already own Punch Club, you can buy it on Steam at 70% off until November the 7th, at the price of 2,49€, which is definitely a good deal.
