Our beloved indie multiplayer game, Move or Die! by the awesomenly named company Those Awesome Guys was also at Gamescom 2016, making the whole indie booth loud and lively as ever. We met the awesome developer Nicolae Berbece, who is the one man running the entire show, and he told us about upcoming things in the game.
20 seconds, constantly changing mechanics and a lot of yelling. These are the keywords that perfectly describe a round of Move or Die, the 4-player friendship ruining party game where rules change every single round. Slap your friends’ controllers out of their hands while playing on the same couch, challenge players online from around the world or pretend to practice offline with AI bots. Select what game modes you want to play from an ever-growing list of developer and community-generated modes, each with their own outrageous mechanics and level design crafted to promote hours of good old friendship-ruining fun.
Nicolae told us that there is a new game mode coming soon, called Loot Grab. In this mode, players will have to grab gold from chests and the one with the most in the end will win.
There will also be new mutators, with some of them being: underwater (everything is under water), VVVVV (with VVVVV maker’s blessing, making jump become a gravity reverse), decoys (flooding the screen with characters) and balance (making the 1st player go slow and the last one go faster).
“We are adding more..” said Nicolae before he left us to delegate another awesome round of Move or Die! for the visitors of the indie arena booth. He also told us that they have already started preparing for a move to consoles and most updates from here on will basically have to do with content inclusion.
Move or Die! is available on Steam and costs 14.99€
